April is Autism Awareness Month.

I subscribe to an interesting magazine called Wired. They have a wide variety of articles from ingredients in every day products, tech info and some health. For their April issue they had a great article on Autism....

Things we say and do...affects others. Are you having a positive or a negative affect?

Do you tell your kids how special they are?
I will be going on a field trip to the Oakland Zoo with my daughter Autum tomorrow. She has been so excited...."mommy, I know how much you love me, because we're spending the day together."

I'm not sharing this for any other reason than my personal experiences have lead me to live my life and acknowledge those who are important to me. Some of you know I've been in too many close calls, ( after typing them just now...I decided to spare you the details)...don't let something life threating have to happen to you before you see the value of those around you!

I keep putting this off...I want to include everything. And the everything keeps getting so big that I haven't started. So here's how this blog will work...

I want to post information about community events and services for children. I also want to include business that offer services to families with special needs kids. If you know of something that I have missed, please email me and let me know about it.

I may also post stuff about my family and general announcements, restaurant reviews, articles I've read.....who knows what I will come up with to write about.
